Altereko has more than 25 years of experience in planning of MSW management, designing separate collection schemes, assessing of recycling facilities (focus on composting), planning pubblic awareness initiatives and education projects, chairing multi-language working groups on complex tasks.

Altereko’s experts cooperate since more than 15 years with international agencies promoting the development of recyling and of sustainable waste management. We work(ed) for: ECN-European Compost Network, ACRR, EEA-European Environment Agency, Sweepnet-GIZ and FAO. Marco Ricci is the vice-chair of the working group on biological treatment of waste on behalf of ISWA International.

Our projects for the separate collection of organic waste followed by composting or biogas production are targeting the SDG established by the UN.
We always consider aspects such as responsible consumption, sustainable waste management solutions for cities and we are aware that bringing back organic matter to soil contributes to long-term sustainability of agriculture.
